One Case of Unilateral Cerebral Rete Mirabile

Abstract
Cerebral Rete Mirabile or abnormal cerebrovascular network related to the internal carotid artery has been considered to be particularly common in the Japanese race.
Our report is Unilateral Cerebral Rete Mirabile on the right side in a 22 year old Korean Army soldier. 22 year old Korean soldier was admitted to department of Neurosurgery in Pusan Military Hospital on September 24, 1970 because of epilepsy (Jacksonian type), intermittent headache on the right side and dizziness which were easy developed under unpleasant mood and fatigability.
A t the admission time, no specific neurological abnormal if as found except his complaints of epilepsy, headache, and dizziness.
Bilateral carotid angiogram were performed.
Right carotid angiogram was revealed extremely narrow internal carotid artery and complete. obstruction at the distal portion of the siphon.
In the base of the brain round vascular network was seen and anterior, middle and posterior cerebral arteries were seemed to be derived from these abnormal vascular network was also seen.
Left carotid angiogram was normal findings.
Electro-Encephalo Gram was revealed diminished alpha rhythm and amplitude on the right hemisphere and slow component on the right center parietal leads which were suggest to foci at the right centro-parietal lesion.
These angiograpic and E.E.G. findings were indicated to "Unilateral Cerebral Rete Mirabile" which was described in many Japanese literatures and 3 cases of Korean literatures.
